"What is this 'Search for a Jingle' contest all about anyway?
I know you all are probably wondering what we are looking for, and are perhaps waiting for a little direction in how to approach this contest. Anderson Auto Body & Paint has never had a slogan, or a theme song, or anything that is our motto, so to speak. We want a catchy phrase or a memorable jingle that we can include in our advertisements, be it through television commercials, radio ads, across the front of our t-shirts, on a bumper sticker, on our website, or on a brochure. We basically want something that reminds you of Anderson's every time you see or hear the slogan; a word or phrase that creates the picture of Anderson Auto Body in your mind automatically. Much like "the best part of waking up" invokes thoughts of a beautiful morning and a cup of Folgers coffee.
The slogan or jingle for our shop can be about anything really, perhaps our services, or the feeling you get when you get your car back from the shop and it looks like the accident never happened, or it could be a simple fluctuation in voice when saying or singing our company name. We are not being particular, and welcome any ideas that are "out of the box" or of the norm.
In thinking of a slogan or a jingle for Anderson's, it may be helpful to get a little background info on our shop, or rather a brief "get to know us" statement. We have been in business since 1995, and in that time, have gained quite a reputation. In the Ashland Sneak Preview "Best of's" we were voted "Best Body Shop" because of our consistent quality, outstanding customer service, lifetime warranty on all paint and body work, and our ability to return vehicles to pre-accident condition in a timely manner.
Our services include auto body repair, collision repair, professional paint services, frame straightening, color matching, a/c repair, and much more. We work on all makes and models, foreign and domestic. We work with all insurance companies, and make the repair process as easy as it can get for our customers. That should be enough background info to get your motors running, but if you are type of person that needs to dive right in, and you would like more details on our ins and outs, check out our website at http://andersonautobody.com.
"How do I submit my idea and become a part of this contest?"
Our only requirement for our contest is that the entry must be sent in as a video. You can use your smart phone to make your video, post it to you-tube, and send it in, all within a matter of minutes. If you do not have a smart phone, or a camera that records video, and you really just don't have the capacity to create a video, let us know. We want your ideas, so we will try to work something out. We could either film it for you, of you, or have Dave Anderson, the owner, recorded with saying or singing your idea. We don't want this to be a painful process, or confusing, or anything like that. It is supposed to be fun, and it is supposed to be easy.
So you've gotten to the point of submitting this video you've recorded and perhaps you are now thinking "What are these tags all about?" I have to admit I was a little confused when our web guy (Levi of SidFilmz, name drop) told me about the criteria for posting the video entries to you-tube. I didn't understand the need for the specific tags: "trusted auto body and collision repair", "auto body repair", "fix my car" & "just wrecked my car".
The point of the tags, as he described, is to keep the videos organized and linked together. We need to be able to find your video, really, so you can win...and the tags ensure that we can do so. It sounds a little more complicated than it really is, PROMISE! If you are struggling through, or are having difficulty, or just need some questions answered about how to upload the video, how to create the tags, or how to get your idea posted to you-tube, you can email our web guy, Levi, at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
If you've got your idea made into a video, and your video has been posted to you-tube, and you have sent us the link to your video- you are all done with the process. Now you just have to wait for Sept. 30th to roll around to see if you are the winner of the prize package worth over $500. The prize package includes gift certificates from local businesses. This contest is primarily about our shop, about Anderson Auto Body & Paint. But it is also about all of our sponsors, all these local businesses that make our community so special. The winning video entry will get a mini detail (valued at $150) from Anderson's, two tickets to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, a one hour massage from the Blue Giraffe Day Spa Salon, a round of golf for two (including cart) to Oak Knoll Golf Course, a 12x18 gallery print from Advanced Photo & Imaging, a $30 gift certificate to Inti Restaurant, a $30 gift certificate to Paddington Station, a $25 gift certificate to Morning Glory, a $20 gift certificate to Bloomsbury Books, BOGO pizza from The Grotto, a $15 gift certificate from The Music Coop, and an oil change from Valley View Auto Repair.
To wrap it up, I must be honest. We have had only one entry thus far, and they technically can't win because it was not a video entry (we are trying to work out the kinks and get a video made). At this point, any video entry could win...that's pretty good odds. I guess that's all for now on our contest, we will keep you posted on any new entries or unravelings on our contest! Thanks.
